What is W - Introduction to Letter W with Activities

Letter W is an unreliable letter because it makes different sounds when used in different words. For example, it makes the "wuh" (voiced w sound) as in walk. Also, when we use words like whisper or cow, we find that on adding ‘w’ at the end of a word or when combined with a letter, it often makes the voiceless w sound as in.  

At certain times, the ‘wh’ combination makes the /h/ sound like who, whom, or whose. You may also notice that W is often silent as in two or wrench. This is the reason ‘W’ seems to be ambiguous by pronunciation.

Now, let us discuss the use of the alphabet ‘w’ in various forms. Along with this, we will do various activities based on the letter W.
