JK Rowling whose real name is Joanne Rowling wrote this series that follows the life of Harry Potter as he grows up in Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. The series has been adapted into 7 books that have more than 10 million copies sold worldwide. It has become an international phenomenon.


10. Matilda

Written by Roald Dahl in 1988, it is about a girl who is often mistreated and finds solace in books. The book was adapted into a Hollywood movie in 1996.
