The novel coronavirus disease has shaken the globe to its very core. The world’s economic structure is at its worst jeopardy since 2008 or 1974, as some experts suggest. However, the most felt peril by the common masses is social disruption worldwide. Numerous countries across the globe, including India, have implemented laws to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
It means, entire factories and operations at large are closed; offices are either suspending their operations or resorting to Work from Home schedules. Schools and other educational institutes are shut down across several Indian states, and social lives have fallen into absolute disarray.
One of the worst affected demography of this social disruption might be kids or adolescents. Their lives have suddenly halted comprising their academic routine, playtimes, etc.; basically having a social life has been discontinued.
The measure by the Indian government and the state governments to implement the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 shall be lauded, nonetheless. Stressing on the importance of social distancing and isolation, PM Shri Narendra Modi announced a public curfew on 22nd March. This “Janta Karfu” would be in action from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
For, at these times of crisis, safety precedes sociability.
However, considering that multitudes of students were preparing for one of the most decisive examinations of their lives, Joint Entrance Examination or JEE Mains, the postponement of the examination alongside shutdowns of educational institutions such as coaching centres for JEE Mains is a significant concern.
How Can We Help?
To address that issue and to deal with the concern that students of our country have, we have made our masterclasses for Joint Entrance Examination entirely free for aspiring JEE candidates. But first, let’s discuss why the JEE Mains is a concern to several students and parents and why you should be worried if you or your child had been preparing for it.
What is JEE Mains?
The Joint Entrance Examinations or JEE Mains is a pan-India examination conducted and administered by the National Test Agency (NTA) since 2019. Students who are the completion of their high schools and aspiring to pursue a career in engineering or architecture need to appear for this examination, which is held twice every year online.
Based on the rank of a student, his/her admission primarily into Indian Institute for Information Technology (IITs), National Institute of Technology (NITs), and State-funded Technical Institutes depend.
On the other hand, the JEE Mains works as the qualifying round for JEE Advanced; after clearing through both these examinations, one can seek admission to any of the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Hence, its significance in a student’s life is unparalleled. Plus, the fierce competition that marks JEE-Mains every year further adds to the importance it holds to an aspirant.
JEE-Mains features two papers – B.E/B.Tech (Paper 1) and B.Arch & B.Planning (Paper 2); whereby students can opt to sit for either one or both these papers.
