Story of the Magical Moonlight Summary in English

This magical moonlight story is narrated by a young child and begins by talking about the moon looking so bright it looks like late afternoon instead of night. The was on the balcony staring out into the sky at the moon as it was too hot to sleep ad that was when something peculiar caught his eye - the outline of a lean figure wearing a red and white hat, with white gloves and a red bow on his neck, riding a bicycle by being supported by the telephone wires. He and the character began to yell rhyming words at each other amongst the smokey sky of colours and the child yearned to be with the cat and have fun.

Once he knew who the figure was - “the Cat In The Hat”, a fictional character famous amongst children - the child really wanted to go over and spend some time with him as he would fit right in with his striped red and white night suit and “cat in the hat” slippers, hoping that he could hop onto the bicycle and juggle three balls. The child quickly rushed to the kitchen, brought out a bowl, mixed some flour and water to make a paste, applied the mixture to his face, grabbed a marker and drew three, long lines on each side of his mouth to be seen as whiskers.

He then ran outside to his balcony and yelled back to the cat in the hat, begging him to take him along. However, the cat in the hat waved back at him and replied that he can not stop and that he has to keep going, after which he rode up to a house of two people named Thing One and Thing Two and drove straight up to a big, red box and ended up crashing into it. Thing One and Thing Two had a hearty laugh and the three of them proceeded to have fun until the next day’s sunrise. At the end, the child was not a tad bit disappointed that he could not go on an adventure with the cat in the hat. Realising that it was late, the child went back to bed dreaming of green eggs and ham the cat in the hat would make him for his breakfast and that it would surely be delicious, without a doubt.
