Hint: A communicable disease is an infectious acquired disease that is transmitted from one person to another through contaminated surfaces, body fluids, insect bites, or through the air. A virus or bacteria can cause these communicable diseases.
Complete answer:
Measles: It is caused by the Rubeola virus (RNA virus) which is passed out in the secretions of the nose and throat of the infected persons as droplets or in articles soiled by these secretions. The disease starts with a catarrh of the nose and throat and fever. It is a highly infectious disease-causing, inflammation of the air passages, and a rash all over the body. The rash which is slightly pinkish in color appears first on the back of the ear and face, spreads downwards on the body. It attacks especially the children below the age of 5 years and those who have escaped may be attacked even in later life. The eyes are red and watery, and the face is flushed.
Cancer: In this disease, abnormal cell growth occurs due to uncontrolled cell division with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. Cancerous cells give rise to tumors which result from an abnormal proliferation of cells. It can be either benign or malignant. A benign tumor remains confined to its original location, neither invading surrounding normal tissue nor spreading to distant body sites whereas a malignant tumor can spread around in the body.
Heart stroke: It is also referred to as myocardial infarction. In this, the blood flow is stopped to certain parts of the heart due to the blocked flow of blood due to atherosclerosis or blood clots. It is characterized by severe pain on the left side of the chest and arm.
Allergy: It is the hypersensitiveness of a person to some foreign substance called allergens coming in contact with or entering the body. It is the amplified response of the immune system to certain allergens present in the environment. The substance to which such an immune response is produced is called allergens. It may be mites, dust pollen, animal danders, fabrics, feathers, mold, heat, cold, sunlight, etc.
Therefore, the answer is (A) Measles.
Note:
Non- communicable diseases are not transferred from one person to another. It includes autoimmune diseases, chronic kidney disease, osteoarthritis, Parkinson’s disease, osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s disease, cataract, diabetes, etc.
