Pascal is the SI unit of pressure. It is equivalent to pressure exerted when 1 Newton of force is applied over an area of 1 squared meter.
One Newton is 1 kilogram meter per second square. It is the force needed to accelerate a mass of 1 kilogram by 1 m/s2 in the direction of the applied force,
We know that pressure = F/ A
If A becomes 2A
Then
P becomes ½
Thus pressure gets halved if area of contact is doubled keeping the force applied constant
