Complete answer:
The Rowlatt Act which is also known as Anarchical and Revolutionary Crimes Act was passed in 1919. The act was passed by the British government with a sole objective of having authority over common folks. This was one of the most autocratic moves of the British rule which gave the British officials a right to arrest any person without any justifiable trial.
This act is connected with the incident of the Jallianwala bagh massacre which took place in Amritsar. The incident was a result of a public gathering on the occasion of the festival of Baisakhi and to protest the arrest and deportation of two national leaders, Satyapal and Saifuddin Kitchlew. Britishers started getting afraid of the Indian protests and launched fire in the Jallianwala bagh gathering. Many lost lives. The remains of bullet marks can still be witnessed in Amritsar at the said place.
The Rowlatt Act also suppressed the press. The idea was to stop the flow of correct information. The act was named after Sir Sidney Rowlatt. Punjab was in a pretty grim state during the said time but the protest was done nationwide. Even so, the army was called in the Punjab region to bring the situation under control.

Hence, Option (A) is the correct answer.

Note: Gandhiji strictly opposed the Rowlatt Act. He characterised the act as Black Law. According to him, the Rowlatt Act transfers the political power of India in the hands of Britishers.
