Photosynthesis involves a series of reactions. The light-dependent reaction occurs in the presence of light while the light-dependent reaction can occur in the light or dark. Which of the following are common to only the light-dependent reaction?
A. Glucose, oxygen, stroma

Hint: Photosynthesis is a process of converting radiant energy into chemical energy but fixing atmospheric carbon dioxide with water and release of an oxygen molecule through stomata. Photosynthesis takes place in the chloroplast of the plant cells.

Complete answer:
The food preparing process photosynthesis takes place in the subcellular organelle of a plant cell called a chloroplast. It contains a green pigment called chlorophyll, which fixes the radiant energy in plants. Plants show two types of reaction that are named as a light reaction, which is light-dependent reaction while second is a dark reaction which is also known as a light-independent reaction, both the reaction occurs in chloroplast but a different part of this subcellular structure. In light-dependent reaction, the light energy capture and use it makes the ATP and NADPH which are energy-storing molecules and oxygen molecules as a waste product, these things occur by a series of reaction electron transport chains, this reaction takes place in thylakoid membrane which are interconnect sacks. In a dark reaction, which is the light-independent reaction, the rubisco enzyme works to capture the carbon dioxide from the atmosphere this is called the Calvin cycle, it uses the NADPH and releases the three-carbon sugar that is later to form sucrose and starch.
Hence, the correct option is (B).

Note: Chloroplast is the organelle not only found in plants but also found in algae and some bacteria called cyanobacteria which also perform photosynthesis. Plants are distributed on the basis of their photosynthetic activity such as C3, C4, and CAM photosynthetic performing plants. C3 plants assimilate carbon dioxide as 3-phosphoglycerate that contains three carbon atoms example sunflower, potatoes, tobacco, while in the case of C4 plants, plants fix carbon dioxide as four-carbon sugar compounds e.g., many kinds of grass, sugarcane, corn. In CAM are xerophyte plant and they from food during night time due to environmental conditions
