It is a kind of gathering activity and may include people, associations or both.

Complete answer:
To supply irrigation to the farmers and electricity to the people of the three states was the main aim of the Narmada Dam project. However it became a drag on society. Hence this was the main reason for the formation of the Narmada Bachao Andolan. The Narmada Bachao Andolan may be a Non-Governmental Organisation which was formed to assist the farmers, tribal people, and other people who are nature-covered within the state of Gujarat to protest against the river valley project. This movement was started by Medha Patkar and Baba Amte. It caused large scale movement of individuals, within the area living and immense ecological damage thanks to deforestation and many rare species of untamed life endangering.

Note:
The river valley project was intended to build the Sardar Sarovar Dam across the Narmada river by Gujarat. By the government the work was eventually stopped after the protest. Among the other seven holy rivers, to Hindu, Narmada is one of them. The Ganges, Yamuna, Saraswati, Godavari, Kaveri and Sindhu are the other six rivers.
