Hint: Three types of muscles are present in the human body like the voluntary muscle, involuntary muscle and cardiac muscle. The three types of muscles are:
-Skeletal muscle: It is also known as voluntary muscles and it is only voluntary muscle tissue in the body which is controlled consciously. Its function is to contract which makes the movement of the parts of the body which are close to the bone where muscle is attached.
-Visceral muscle: It is found inside the stomach, intestine and blood vessels. It is controlled by the unconscious part of the brain and therefore it is also known as involuntary muscle. Its function is to make organs contract in order to move the substances from the organs.
-Cardiac muscles: As the name indicates, these muscles are present in the heart and this muscle is responsible for the pumping of blood too. This muscle tissue is controlled by the unconscious part and therefore it is an involuntary muscle.
Complete answer:
It is believed that there are a total of 639 muscles in the human body.
If we look at options now, option A is 320 which is incorrect since there are 639 muscles.
Moving to option B which is 602, it is close but there are 639 muscles and therefore it is incorrect.
Moving to option C which is 572, this is also incorrect as per the explanation given above since there is presence of 639 muscles in the human body.
Last option D is 639 and this is the correct option as there is a total number of 639 muscles in the human body.
Thus, the correct answer is option D which 639.
Note: There are mainly three types of muscles present in the human body and out of which there are involuntary muscles and voluntary muscles are controlled unconsciously by brain and consciously by brain respectively. But the total number of muscles present are 639 which makes option D the correct one.
