Hint: Indian landmass is having a coastal border (also known as a coastal line) that is more than about 7000 kilometre(approximately) in length. Coastal plains can be defined as the borders after the Indian plain mainland. These coastal lines give many advantages to the country.

The coasts which lie in the western margin are known as the West Coast and the coast that lies in the eastern margin is known as the east coast. West coastal plain is connected with the Arabian sea and the east coastal plain is connected with the Bay of Bengal. These coasts help in the development of the country as a large number of ports some are big and some are small have been developed all along with the coastal areas as supplying of goods and process of import and export business are done through these ports only.it plays a mandatory role in the growth of national and international trade. Many precious and costly oils and minerals have been supplied and received by the ships through the seaway. By these ports which are built on coastal plains, trade business gives profitable satisfaction to the country's growth and development.

Note:Along with the benefits of the economic section coastal plains are also having many other advantages like it has fertile soil which is useful for agriculture and fishing is the main occupation of the people living in coastal plains.
