Hint:
Here we have to define the term frequency of an observation. We will take an appropriate example with appropriate data to explain the meaning of the term, frequency of an observation.

Complete step by step solution:
A frequency is defined as the number of times the given value repeated in the given data and here observation means the fact that is collected about a given variable from the data.
Now, we will define the term frequency of an observation. Frequency of an observation is defined as the number of times the observation occurs in the data or in other words, we can say frequency of an observation tells us how often the observation occurs in the given data.
We will take one example now. Let’s take the list of 6 natural numbers. The six natural numbers are as follows; 5, 3, 5, 7, 4, 5. Here we will find the frequency of the number 5 in the given data. We can easily see that 5 occurs three times in the given data. Therefore, the frequency of number 5 is 3. Here number 5 is the observation.

Note:
Since we have understood the meaning of frequency of an observation. Let’s understand the term frequency distribution now. The frequency distribution is an overview or a representation of all distinct values corresponding to some variable and the number of times they occur. It represents the frequency within the given class interval or the number of observations occurs within the given class interval.
The cumulative frequency distribution is a type of frequency distribution which represents the sum of a frequency of a class and all classes below it. The cumulative frequency distribution is very helpful in determining the frequency up to a certain threshold.
