She lost all her sheep and repented. Let us find out why this happened and what she did by reading the lyrics of this poem.

Little Bo Peep Lyrics

Little Bo-Peep has lost her sheep,

And can't tell where to find them;

Leave them alone, and they'll come home,

Bringing their tails behind them.

Little Bo-Peep fell fast asleep,

And dreamt she heard them bleating;

But when she awoke, she found it a joke,

For they were still all fleeting.

Then up she took her little crook,

Determined for to find them;

She found them indeed, but it made her heart bleed,

For they'd left their tails behind them.

It happened one day, as Bo-Peep did stray

Into a meadow hard by,

There she espied their tails, side by side,

All hung on a tree to dry.

She heaved a sigh and wiped her eye,

And over the hillocks she raced;

And tried what she could, as a shepherdess should,

That each tail be properly placed.

Little Bo Peep with her Sheep

Little Bo Peep with her Sheep

She was not careful that day. She found all the sheep are gone. She could not find them at all. Someone told me not to worry as the sheep know the path and will come back on their own.

She was sad and fell asleep. In her dreams, she heard them calling her name. She heard her sheep bleating at a distance. When she woke up, she did not find any of them. It seemed that fate was playing a joke on her.

She took her crooked stick and started her venture to find her sheep back. She did find them at a distance but the sheep left their tails behind. Her heart drowned in despair. She could not believe that she lost her sheep. She took all the tails of her sheep.

Days passed and the meadows were dry. There was no grass left. She took the tails and hung them on a tree one after the other. She heaved a sigh and cried for her sheep. The sheep did not come back and she was heartbroken.
