NTA Declared BE/ B.Tech Result and Category Wise Cut-Off for JEE Advanced 2020

National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the JEE Main 2020 (April/September) result on late Friday night i.e. September 12, 2020. The result (for BE/ B.Tech) got published within a week of the entrance exam held. Candidates who appeared on the exam of the September session can check the result on the official website.



Besides the result, candidates will also be able to check the rank list, final answer key on the official website. On the other hand, NTA has also declared the cut-off for JEE Advanced 2020 examination as well. According to NTA, candidates having at least 90.3765335 percentile will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced exam this year. For OBC the cut-off is 72.8887969. For EWS students the cut-off is 70.2435518, for SC it is 50.1760245, and ST is 39.0696101 respectively.


How to Check JEE Main 2020 Result Online?

Step 1: Visit JEE Main official website.

Step 2: The screen will appear with the title ‘Joint Entrance Examination (Main) - 2020 NTA Score Paper-I (B.E./B.Tech.)’

Step 3: Below the aforementioned title, you will find two clickable links namely ‘View Result (Server I)’ and ‘View Result (Server II)’.

Step 4: Click on any one of the links.

Step 5: Enrol the required login details such as application number, Date of Birth, security pin etc.

Step 6: Upon enrolling all the login details, click on the ‘SUBMIT’ button.

Step 7: The result will appear on your screen. Save it and take a printout of the result for further reference.


Like last year, this year also 24 candidates from various states have scored a 100 percentile score in the JEE Main exam. Out of 24 candidates, eight toppers are from Telangana, five are from Delhi, four from Rajasthan, three from Andhra Pradesh, two from Haryana, and one each from Gujarat and Maharashtra respectively.


The JEE Main April session exam which was deferred due to coronavirus pandemic across the nation has been finally held on September 1 to September 6, 2020. As per NTA, a total of 8.41 lakhs candidates registered for the JEE Main exam April session (which is held in September) and 6.35 lakhs candidates have finally appeared in the exam.


The total number of candidates registered for the JEE Main January examination is 9.21 lakhs while 8.69 lakhs candidates appeared for the exam. In comparison with the January session, the attendance of the April/September session exam is quite lower.


Adding, the total number of common candidates registered in both the January and April (September) session of JEE Main 2020 exam is 5.88 lakhs. Out of which, 4.81 lakhs have appeared in the exam. The total number of unique candidates appearing in the JEE Main January and April (September) exam 2020 is 10.23 lakhs.


The engineering exam was held in nearly 600 exam centres across the country while following the strict SOP and guidelines issued by the government. Thermal screening, masks and sanitisers distribution, maintaining social distance were a few strict instructions which were followed in every JEE Main exam centre.


A total number of 24 candidates outshined the JEE Main exam last year as well and four candidates each from Telangana and Rajasthan state topped the exam.


Candidates who appeared in both the sessions i.e. January and April (September) must note that the better of the two scores will be accounted for further procedure.
