The bench including DY Chandrachud, JB Pardiwala and AS Bopanna, will be hearing the four petitions raising this issue. According to the petitions filed, the technical glitches during the exam have resulted in a negative impact on the performance of the students. Below are the issues that students faced during the JEE Main 2022:

  • At many centres questions were not stable on the screen. According to the students, a few questions were disappearing and reappearing, resulting in difficulty to the questions clearly

  • The ‘Move To Next Question’ button stopped working multiple times

  • Blank screens and software crash issues

  • Invigilators failed to assist students when such issues appeared

  • Discrepancy in the final score released by NTA

  • No response from NTA on the issues raised since June 2022

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not released any official notice on the issues faced by the students during the JEE Main 2022. Also, it was not confirmed to students whether the JEE Main Session 1 would be conducted again for all or not. It was noted that on July 18, 2022, NTA gave relief to the few petitioners that approached Apex Court.

On July 30, 2022, only a few students were approached by NTA through e-mail to grant permission for a re-test. The petition is finally for equal opportunity for the students who have faced issues during the test.
