In April 2022, the Department of Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur introduced its Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry with specialisation programme. The BS course's main focus is "science-based engineering innovation," and it strives to give students skill sets in chemical science that are related to engineering.

This course may be the best choice for students who have an interest in chemical sciences research and technology across disciplines.

This undergraduate curriculum will impart foundational information in the first few semesters in basic science and engineering, which serves as the foundation for the different skill sets utilised by scientists and engineers to create, build, and innovate future technologies. For the following two years, students will receive training in advanced chemical subjects. The curriculum's last year will offer specialisation in a narrow field.

The undergraduate curriculum lasts four years and is divided into eight equal semesters. IIT Jodhpur's academic programmes typically follow a semester structure with an autumn and spring semester.

Spectroscopy and Dynamics, Organic and Organometallic Catalysis, Advanced Energy Materials, and Entrepreneurship are the institute's four core specialisations from which to choose.

Candidates must have successfully completed class 12 or the equivalent in the Science stream in order to be admitted to the programme on the basis of their JEE Advanced scores.

A BS student who meets the minimum credit requirements and has a cumulative grade point average of 6 or better at the end of the seventh semester may be allowed to move to the BS-MTech dual degree programme at the beginning of the eighth semester.

Unreserved and OBC students must pay a semester fee of Rs 27,250 and a tuition cost of Rs 1 lakh per semester. Students who are SC, ST, or PwD are completely excused from paying tuition; instead, they just have to pay a semester fee of Rs 27,250. Candidates must also pay refundable deposits, a dining fee advance, and other fees in addition to this.

With job options in industries like pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, materials and devices, energy, healthcare, and the environment, this curriculum is intended for recent graduates.
