Well, let us begin with the cunning fox story.

The Cunning Fox and the Clever Stork

Once upon a time in a forest, there was a very cunning and clever fox. He was always up to some mischief and played tricks on the other animals. The fox would first pretend to be very sweet with the animals and then would play mean tricks on them.

One fine day, the fox met a stork. He soon started with his antics and befriended the stork by saying sweet things and behaving like a very good friend. Very soon, he made an invitation and requested the stork to come to his home and have a feast with him. Not knowing the true nature of the fox, the stork happily accepted his invitation.

On the day of the feast, the stork arrived at the fox’s house. However, to her surprise, the fox apologised because he didn’t have a feast prepared for her but only some soup. When the fix brought the soup, the stork saw that it was actually in a shallow bowl. Now you know that the stork has a long bill. How was she going to drink the soup and that too from a bowl? The poor stork could just have a few drops that were stuck to her beak while the cunning fox lapped up the soup with his tongue.

To add salt to the pain, the mischievous fox asked, “Did you not like the soup?” The stork understood what the fox was trying to do but she continued with a smile on his face. She said, “Yes, the soup is very delicious, but actually I have an upset stomach so I cannot eat any more.” The fox faked an apology and the stork left his home. But before that, she extended an invitation to the fox. She invited him to have dinner at her home.

What Does the Fox Get?

Finally, the day came and the fox went to the stork’s house. After exchanging a few pleasantries, the stork served dinner for both of them. She too had soup, but it was served in a very narrow jar with a long neck. The fox couldn’t even reach inside the jar while the stork had the soup very easily. After finishing the soup, the stork asked the fox if he liked the soup or not. Remembering what he had done to the stork earlier, the fox finally learned that he was outsmarted by the stork.

It was him who got tricked this time. Now he felt ashamed of his actions and said, “I should leave now because I have a stomach ache.” Without saying anything else, he left the stork’s place, feeling entirely humiliated.

The Cunning Fox Story Moral

If you try to do something bad to others, there is a good chance that something bad will also happen to you. It is important to help others and do good things in life so that you also receive kindness and goodness in the end.
