FAQs on RS Aggarwal Solutions Class 7 Chapter-7 Linear Equations in One Variable (Ex 7C) Exercise 7.3

1. What is the purpose of linear equations in Class 7 mathematics?

The linear equation is the relationship between variables with each variable dependent on the other expressed by an algebraic equation. The equation consists of terms that are either constants or products of a variable with a constant. The concept of the linear equation helps to calculate an unknown quantity from the known quantity on which the unknown quantity is dependent. It helps to calculate almost everything in real-life calculations like calculating the mileage of your vehicle to calculate income over a certain period of time.  This concept is useful not only for all day-to-day simple calculations but also to build the foundation on which more advanced problems will come in higher classes. So this chapter is appropriate to be started in Class 7 itself.

2. Which book is best for Class 7 Linear Equations in One variable?

It is always recommended to start your subject study with NCERT books which prepare you well for understanding the higher concepts. A student who has already developed sound concepts in the topic from studying and solving NCERT books can move forward with either RD Sharma or RS Aggarwal books for further strengthening the foundation of concepts. Here the students have to choose wisely which book will be better for them to grasp. RS Aggarwal is an easier book to start for slow and gradual learning, often recommended as the best book for mediocre students to start with after NCERT or even starting from scratch. RS Aggarwal is often best for Class7. RD Sharma basically deals with more difficult concepts which are better for higher classes. You can download the same in PDF format at Vedantu website.

3. Which is the most convenient way to solve linear equations?

The concept of linear equations is easy but it can be made even simpler by the use of graphs. The basic method is to graph the equation. The linear function equation is of the form y=mx+b where m is the slope, b is the point where it crosses the y-axis and the point is represented by x and y. The linear equation can be solved simply by drawing the line for each equation and the point of intersection gives the solution. For linear equations, only one variable is present in the equation ax+b=0. Hence the graph will be a line either parallel to the x-axis or y-axis since the point will be like (a,0) or (0,a). The solution will be either the point where the line intersects the x-axis in the case of the vertical line or the point where it intersects the y-axis in the case of the horizontal line. Thus solving the linear equation by the graph is not only easy but easily representable in a clean and tidy way.

4. What are the tips to solve linear equations in one variable?

The golden tips to make it easy to solve linear equations in one variable are

  • First approach will be to simplify the equation on both sides

  • All the variables should be brought to on one side of the equation by addition or subtraction

  • Finally multiplication and division to get the result.

Other than solving the equation graphically this method is the simplest method if the tips are followed in the right sequence. This way is as easy for a Class 7 student as is simple addition and subtraction to them.

5. How does Vedantu help you in Class 7 maths chapters?
