The Half-Yearly Social Service Camp was prearranged for the students of Saraswati Gyanmandir Vidyalaya, Ahmedabad, Gujarat to Kasol, Himachal Pradesh from 12th to 17th June, 2018. The members of the Uthaan NGO came together to provide assistance with their time, skills and possessions to ensure that around 175 students (boys and girls) go back with loving and pleasing memories to cherish. Apart from organizing a drama, horse ride and a puppet show, provision was also made to take the students to visit the traditional and rudimentary museums and some famous tourist places of the city such as The Marine Aquarium, Indira Art & Craft Centre, and the Wing- shadow amusement park. The place is famous for its magnificent scenery and picturesque view of mountains which was visible from their place of stay.

On Saturday, 15th June, 2019, the girls of class IX spent time from 9.30 to 12.30 PM interacting with other class students. Besides arranging one-minute games, food stalls and boat ride, camp kids also took a step further ahead to construct a connection with the visitors, especially children by inquiring about their hobbies, likes and dislikes, surroundings and adversity. For all the students it was priceless and once in a lifetime experience as this getting along helped them become compassionate and kind towards people they met and that instilled a strong trait in them of respecting the other no matter the age, gender, or any other demographics. They also understood and witnessed the callous truth of more than 80% of children who study in rural schools without even the basic amenities made available to them. It was all in all a very enriching trip and it will be engraved in the minds of the students for quite a long time.
