A horrible bus accident took place at Greater Kailash in Delhi. The bus toppled over bridge under Do police station. The driver of the bus, carrying 56 people, was speaking on his cell phone while driving even refusing to heed to repeated pleas by passengers not to do so. An eyewitness said that a truck came close to the bus perilously and desperate to avoid the truck, the bus swerved to the right and fell over the bridge. The local people spotted 14 dead bodies and 23 were severely injured. The ambulances were called immediately. After sometime police reached the spot. An investigation committee was set up to find the real culprit.
The chief minister Arvind Kejriwal announced an extra gratia payment of RS 5 lacs to the dead person's families and RS 1 lac to the injured.
