Earthquakes, one of the most severe natural disasters, is being felt by people all over the world. Nepal is a seismically vulnerable country with a high risk of earthquakes. Every forty years, Nepal can expect two earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.5-8 on the Richter scale and one earthquakes with a magnitude of 8+ on the Richter scale every eighty years.

According to studies, Nepal has 92 fault lines that can cause an earthquake. Nepal is also ranked 11th in the list of most dangerous countries for earthquakes, as well as first in the list of cities with the highest human casualties.
