The capital of the Union Territory of Lakshadweep is Kavaratti and the island comes under the jurisdiction of the Kerala High Court. The languages spoken in the island are Jeseri and Dhivehi and the official languages are Malayalam and English.
Note: 1028 are the number of islands which are present in India, this also includes uninhabited islands. Some of the important islands of India, other than Andaman and Nicobar islands and Laksadweep islands are - Sriharikota Island, Abdul Kalam Island, Pamban Island, etc.
