Hint: It was Pt.Jawaharlal Nehru with four other people who founded the Non Alignment Movement in 1961.

Complete answer:
The Cold War which began after the end of the second world war (1939-1945) between the two superpowers tended to divide the world into two rival alliances. It was in this context that non alignment offered the newly decolonized countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America a third option—not to join either alliance. This idea cemented in the form of Non Aligned Movement(NAM) which was was founded 1961 under the leadership of Josip Bro Tip of Yugoslavia, Gamal Abdel Nasser of Egypt, Jawaharlal Nehru of India, Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, and Sukarno of Indonesia.

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had often been dubbed as the architect of the non aligned movement. He considered the policy of non alignment as somewhat of an indigenous product which emanated from India’s long struggle for freedom. Moreover, NAM was based on Nehru’s Principles Panchsheel which served as the basis for movement. These were- mutual respect for each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty, mutual non-aggression, mutual non-interference in domestic affairs, equality and mutual benefit, peaceful co-existence.

Nehru strived to make NAM as a worldwide movement, initiating dialogue with other developing countries to become members of NAM in order to prevent their exploitation at the hands of the super powers. It was as a result of Nehru and their leaders’ consistent efforts that the membership of NAM increased dramatically in the subsequent years. It was because of Nehru that NAM came into existence and gained phenomenal prevalence in the international sphere.

Note: The Jawaharlal Nehru played a vital role in the formation of Non-alignment movement. It was his constant efforts that increased the membership of the Non-alignment movement. It also gained prevalence in the world sphere.
