It's anything but a little form of the old nonexistent animal – the dragon. It was totally shrouded in mud and from underneath it, little fixes of delicate velvet fur could be seen. He shook himself to dispose of the majority of it yet it required one more month of constant cleaning and washing to draw out his real colour.

The writer called his pet ‘Mijbil’ or in short, ‘Mij’. Mijbil was a part of a race of otters that had been recently discovered by a zoologist named Lutrogale Perspicillata Maxwell and was thus known as Maxwell’s otter.

It required the otter a little time to open up and settle in his new surroundings. He was at a distance on the first day, slept with the narrator in his bed lying on the crook of his knees on the second and began to know his new atmosphere better on the third day.
