Hint: We know that ores are special types of minerals from which metals can be extracted. Oxide ores are ores in which metals are in their oxidised form. Some of the examples of oxide ores are chromium, magnetite, hematite, cassiterite and many more.

Complete answer:
We all know that the metals exist mostly in the form of salts along with other minerals to form an ore. These impurities should be removed with the help of different inorganic separation techniques. Every step takes us to a purer content of metal in the ore. In this, every process involved in the extraction.
The main aim of designing an extraction process is to minimize the cost and gather the purest form of the metal as much as possible. The conventional metal extraction processes will be discussed elaborately on this concept page. The simpler the process, the better and more cost-effective it is for the industries to extract metals from their ores. It all depends on the principles of metallurgy we use to check the inorganic chemical properties of the constituents of an ore. This is how an extraction process is designed.
Most metals can’t resist natural processes like oxidation, corrosion, etc. Hence, only non-reactive metals like gold, silver, platinum, etc. are found in the native or free state. The process of procuring metals from ores is called metallurgy and these naturally occurring compounds of metals are known as minerals. Metals are usually extracted from the earth by mining.

Note:
Remember the fact the oxide ores of the metals which are less reactive than carbon can be reduced by carbon to produce carbon dioxide or carbon monoxide. Once the oxide ore is converted to the metal, we have to refine the metal to get pure metal without any impurity.
