Hint:We know that the kinetic energy of an object is the energy it has due to its motion in physics. It is the amount of work required to accelerate a body of a given mass from rest to a specified velocity. This energy was obtained during the acceleration. A non-rotating object of mass m moving at a speed v has kinetic energy equal to \[\dfrac{1}{2}m{{v}^{2}}\].

Complete step by step answer:
In classical mechanics, the mass and speed of a point object (an object so small that its mass can be said to exist at one point) or a non-rotating rigid body decides its kinetic energy. The kinetic energy is equal to half of the product of mass and speed squared. In form of a formula:
\[K.E.=\dfrac{1}{2}m{{v}^{2}}\]
Where, \[m\] is the mass and \[v\] is the speed (or the velocity) of the body. In SI units, mass is measured in kilograms, speed in metres per second \[m{{s}^{-1}}\] , and the resulting kinetic energy is in joules \[J\].

Clearly Kinetic energy of an object is directly proportional to the mass of the body i.e.
\[K.E.\propto m\]
And Kinetic energy of an object is directly proportional to the square of the velocity of the body .i.e.
\[K.E.\propto {{v}^{2}}\]

Note: Kinetic energy of a body with a set mass varies as the body's velocity changes.According to the Law of Conservation of Energy, as the body moves and its kinetic energy changes, the energy is converted into some sort of energy. Under free fall, the kinetic energy of the body varies.
