Hint:-Theodor Svedberg was a Swedish chemist. He received the Nobel Prize for chemistry. His works were mainly on physical chemistry. He did pioneer work in the fields of nuclear chemistry as well as radiation biology. The Svedberg unit (S) was named after him. It is not a standard (SI) unit. This unit is also called sedimentation coefficient and is a measurement of the time it takes to move in a centrifuge tube.The ‘S’ in ribosomes such as 80 S in eukaryotes is this svedberg unit.
