1. In response to the ongoing yellow fever outbreak in Brazil, approximately 3.5 million doses of vaccine were deployed to the country from the emergency reserve through the International Yellow Fever Vaccine Supply Coordination Group.
2. In a national campaign covering all provinces in Yemen, nearly 5 million children under the age of 5 were vaccinated. Despite increased violence in the Sa'ada government, children between 6 months and 15 years of age have been immunized against measles, and children under 5 have been vaccinated against polio.
3. Simultaneous vaccination campaigns have been completed in Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon, and Benin to stop the spread of polio and ensure that the virus in polio-free countries is no longer circulating.
4. With the support of WHO, the Ministry of Health of Somalia deployed a technical team to assess the extent and challenges of the cholera outbreak in the Gulf region and provide technical assistance to expand the response. The team visited 3 cholera treatment centers and 9 cholera treatment units in Baidoa and surrounding villages.
