Hint: Firstly denote Rama’s and Rohit’s height by any variable for faster and easier calculation. Then form an equation from the given set of statements so that we can find the height of Rama. The expression comes out to be the difference of Rohit’s height and 0.5. Calculate the equation which implies the variable has the calculated value. Find the final answer.

Complete step-by-step answer:
Let Rama’s height be h meters and Rohit’s height be k meters.
We know Rohit’s height is given as 1.45m therefore we get,
k = 1.45
Also Rama is 0.5m less than Rohit’s height.
The above said statement can be written mathematically as,
h = k – 0.5
On substituting the value of k in the above equation we get,
h = 1.45 – 0.5
By subtracting 0.5 from 1.45,
h = 0.95m
Hence Rama’s height is 0.95m.

Note: Less than implies we have to use the subtract operation and find the difference of their heights. The error you may encounter could be that you might be trying to subtract 1.45 from 0.5 which is logically incorrect and will result in a negative number. Alternately denotion for Rohit’s can be avoided and his height can be used directly in the expression for faster calculation but it denoted by k here for much better understanding.
