Hint:Newton’s first law gives us the relation between the force applied on it and how the body responds to this applied force. In short, it gives us a clear-cut idea about the state of motion of a body.

Complete answer:
Newton’s laws are three in number. They are stated below:
First law: The first law states that, if a body is at rest or moving at a constant speed in a straight line, it will remain at rest or keep moving in a straight line at constant speed unless and until it is acted upon by an external force.

Second law: The second law states that, the rate of change of momentum of an object is directly proportional to the force applied to it.

Third law: The third law states that, for every action (force) that occurs in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction.

In conclusion, Newton's first law gives us the idea about the movement of the body when a force is applied or not. The statement says that the state of rest is uninterrupted unless and until an unbalanced force act on it. This is the idea of inertia.

The first law is known as the law of inertia.

Note:Remembering and memorizing all of the laws in the right order is very important. Some people might have a difficult time remembering the laws in order and have this tendency to mix them up and that might lead to the wrong conclusion.
