Hint: Cell is the basic unit structure of living organisms. It is the building block of life. The study of cells is called cytology. The cell is the structural, functional, and biological unit of the living organism. The nucleus is the membrane bound organelle that consists of the genetic information of an organism. It contains DNA in it.

Complete answer:
- Leeuwenhoek is known as the father of microbiology. He was the first scientist to discover the living cell. He discovered bacteria and protists and introduced them to the world of animalcules. He noticed a small unicellular organism present in the lake water, which he gave the name animalcules. Animalcules included all the living organisms which were unicellular in nature and were not visible to the naked eye.
- Robert brown gave the discovery of the nucleus of the cell. While studying the fertilization mechanism of the plants present in the family Orchidaceae and Asclepiadaceae were, he noticed a structure that was present in the cells of the orchid plant. He named it a nucleus. His discovery of the nucleus and its role leads to the understanding of the cell theory more easily.
- Schleiden and Schwann gave the cell theory which states that all living organisms are made up of one or more cells, the cell is the basic unit of the life and in an organism new cells tend to arise from the pre-existing cells. In 1838 he said that plant tissues are composed of different cells and the small plant developed from a single cell. Schwann reported that the presence of the cell wall was a unique feature of the plant cell.
So the answer is ‘a) A - (i), B - (iii), C - (iv), D - (ii)’.

Note: Robert Brown also discovered the Brownian movement. He made a contribution to understanding the cell theory. Leeuwenhoek also led to the discovery of the 500 different types of microscope. He was the first known microbiologist.
