Hint- It’s just in such type of questions we just have to keep in mind that we have just to calculate the ratio i.e. how much the real life thing that is building here in this question is being scaled to be represented on a map for that we will just take the ratio of both dimensions just to know how many units of one represent the unit of the other.

Complete step-by-step answer:
Height of the building i.e. before scaling $(h) = 9m$
Height of building when represented on the map i.e. after scaling $(H) = 9cm$
We know that, Scaling $ = \dfrac{h}{H}$ , where $h$ represents the height before scaling and $H$ represents the height after the scaling i.e. after being represented on the map.
So, Scaling $ = \dfrac{{9m}}{{9cm}} = \dfrac{{900cm}}{{9cm}} = \dfrac{{100}}{1} = 100:1$
Hence, our required scale is $ = 100:1$

Note- For such type of questions related to scaling we can also approach the problem in such a way that we can equalize the dimension of the object before and after being scaled due to which we will be able to get an idea of the how much the object is being scaled like here we can also say that $9m = 9cm$ by this statement we can simply conclude that $900cm = 9cm$ or $100 = 1$ which simply means that 100 units of the object is treated as 1 unit when being represented on the map. This is what we call scaling.
