Hint: First of all we will convert the given roman symbols into roman numbers using the rules of conversion, that are, when a symbol appears after a larger or equal symbol then the symbols are added and if a symbol appears before a larger symbol then the values of the symbols are subtracted. At last, we will add the numbers to get the required result.

Complete step by step answer:

We have to add the roman symbols XIX+XXX
We will first convert the given roman symbols to Roman numerals.
We shall begin by converting XIX
Now, we know that x represents 10 and I represent 1 in Roman numerals.
The rule to convert such Roman symbols to Roman numerals states that when a symbol appears after a larger or equal symbol then the symbols are added.
Hence, the symbols X and IX will be added.
Also, if a symbol is before a larger symbol then the symbol is subtracted from the larger number. Then the value of IX is 10-1 which is equal to 9.
Hence the value of XIX is 10+9=19
Now, we will find the value of XXX
Here the symbols are added, then XXX represents 10+10+10 which is 30
But, we have to find the value of XIX+XXX
On substituting the value of the symbols, we get
19+30=49
Thus, option A is correct.

Note: Students must know the rules of conversion of Roman symbols to Roman numerals. One also has to remember certain symbols of numerals to do the questions correctly.
