Hint :We can define Hydrogen bond as an intermolecular force that forms a special type of dipole-dipole attraction. Hydrogen bonds are weaker than covalent bonds, ionic bonds but are stronger than most dipole-dipole interactions.

Hydrogen bonding involves a hydrogen atom located between a pair of other atoms having high affinity for electrons. Hydrogen bonds can exist between atoms in different molecules or in parts of the same molecule.
The major requirements for hydrogen bonding are;
-Molecule must have hydrogen attached to a highly electronegative atom ( $ F,O,N $ )
-There should be a lone pair of electrons on a small highly electronegative atom in the molecule.
The highly electronegative atoms will attract the electrons towards itself, this results in formation of partial charges on the molecule. Hydrogen forms polar covalent bonds when attached to an electronegative atom and does not form ions.
Now coming to our question;
In $ HCl $ molecule, electronegative atom chlorine is present but still it will not show hydrogen bonding. This is because chlorine atoms are larger than other hydrogen–bond forming electronegative atoms ( $ F,O,N $ )covering a large area and thus do not have the high charge density to act as strong hydrogen bond acceptor. We can say it forms weak hydrogen bonds or no hydrogen bonds.
Thus, $ HCl $ doesn’t form hydrogen bonds.
