Hint: The yellow color appears only when the red and green colors are mixed and now we have to get the two-color combination on the eye retina to get the yellow color to appear on the eyes. If we don't get the color combination through the filter we won't be able to see the yellow color.
A filter absorbs all the colors except the one for which it is designed.

Step by step solution:

We have already seen that the yellow color is a combination of red and green color.
So whenever we see the yellow color we get both the red and the green color on the retina of the eyes.

A filter is something which filters the colors of the incident light by permitting only the specified colors and stopping the remaining colors from falling on the retina of the eye.

Now when the light is incident on the yellow-colored object it emits the combination of both red and green colors but here we are using a filter which filters the colors incident on it.

As we are using a blue filter we get only the blue-colored light and here the red and the green colors are not allowed through the filter and hence we don't get any color passing through the glass so the person sees the yellow-colored object as the black one.

Note: The concept here is to understand the reflection of the colors incident on the object and here the particular colored object reflects the particular combination of the colors. Hence, if the filter allows all the required combination of the colors, we will be able to see the true color of the object, otherwise we may see different colors.
Like the blue color filter there are filters for yellow and other colors in existence.
