Gravity holds everything together. If suddenly the gravity becomes zero, all the objects in the gravitational field of the planet will be lost in space. We would feel weightlessness. But still if the Earth has finite mass then we can say that the law of gravitation is invalid. This implies fundamentally that the argument itself is invalid until the mass of the Earth is zero.
