Complete step by step solution:
1857 revolt – It was a major Indian Rebellion of 1857 for Independence which was an unsuccessful still the major revolt against the rule of the British East India Company. Reasons such as military, political, economic, socio-religious and the immediate causes were responsible to ignite the revolt.
Socio-religious reforms – These were the reform movements of the 19th century India which were majorly a result of all the ill things happening with the women such as Sati, Widow Remarriage and infanticide. Other reasons such as superstitions related with religion, untouchability were also the main causes. Many known personalities of that time led this movement such as Raja RamMohan Roy, Debendranath Tagore and many more.
