Hint:Soil is a natural resource.Topsoil the surface close to the land has essential nutrients for crops.Main enemy of agriculture is soil erosion.
Complete answer:
Soil Pollution:
Presence of toxic chemicals such as pollutants and contaminants in soil is soil pollution. The highly concentrated substances increases the risk to human health and ecosystem. The causes of pollution is because of radiations, chemicals, oil spills and other natural pollutants in the soil. The natural pollutants occur because of the microbial activity.
Prevention for soil pollution:
1.Instead of synthetic fertilizers manures can be used.
2.Avoid using plastics.Plastics and polythenes destroy the fertility of soil when dumped and disposed. So they should be properly disposed.
3.Releasing the industrial waste after treating it chemically to make them harmless.

Soil Erosion:
Removal of topsoil(upper fertile layer of soil) by flowing water and strong winds is soil erosion.
Prevention:
1.Awarness should be created to reduce deforestation for industrial purposes.
2.The degraded forest should be regenerated by local people with the help from others.
3.Planting more trees than usual in vacant lands.
4.Over grazing by animals should be avoided.
5.Step-farming techniques should be practised in hilly regions.
6.Proper drainage system should be installed in every household to avoid water flowing out.By this we can let the water flow down into the water collecting systems.

Note:This is a global problem. This makes soil unfit for agriculture.Smart land management is required. It is also a major threat for sustainability and productivity with more effects on climate and food security. This happens mostly in India,Indonesia,Philippines.
