Hint: Heterotypic division is the division in which one diploid cell converts into Two haploid cells.
Complete answer solution:
Condensed chromosome that are oriented at the equatorial plate is known as Metaphasic plate and during meiosis that is further divided into Meiosis-1 (reduction division) and Meiosis -2(equatorial division and same as mitosis), in Meiosis-1 the diploid chromosome becomes half and moves toward equatorial plate during metaphase and this type of division is known as heterotypic division because one diploid converts into two haploid. Meiosis-1 is much longer as compared to the meiosis-2 and it is further divided into Prophase- I, Metaphase-I ,Anaphase-I, Telophase-I and Prophase- I is further divided into Leptotene, Zygotene, Pachytene , Diplotene and Diakinesis ,During Prophase-I crossing over and chiasmata formation takes place , it is this phase of meiosis that is responsible for the variation in the sexual reproducing organisms ,whereas in Meiosis-2 haploid chromosomes divides in haploid chromosome and moves towards metaphasic plate and this type of division is Homotypic division. In Meiosis one diploid cell that is commonly known as germinal cell converts into four haploid cells and this is the reason why the meiosis is known as reduction division. Moreover, it is also very important to note that the metaphasic chromosome of meiosis is not used for the determination of shape and size of chromosome.
Note:Meiosis is the reduction division and it occurs only in germ cells in the sexually reproducing organism, exception is zygotic meiosis.
