Hint: There is only one path for the electron flow in a series circuit. At the same location, the entıre circuit is closed or open. In the case of a circuit break, there is no current flow in the circuit because the entire circuit is open; this is the major disadvantage of a series circuit. For instance, if in a series circuit, many light bulbs are connected, then if one light bulb goes out, the others will also turn off.

The circuit is referred to as a series circuit when all the devices are linked using series connections. In a series circuit, each device is connected in such a way that there is only one path through which the external circuit can be traversed by charge. Each charge passing through the loop of the external circuit will pass consecutively through each resistor.

A short comparison and contrast were made between series and parallel circuits. This is because the resistors don't alter or decrease the current flowing through them in a series connection. They're only resisting the current. In a series connection, there is also no other exit or branch. The present, therefore, remains constant or unchanged.

Note:
It was emphasized in that section that the act of adding more resistors to a series circuit results in the rather anticipated outcome of having more overall resistance. Since there is only one path through the circuit, the resistance of each device meets each charge; thus, adding more devices results in more overall resistance. This increased resistance helps to decrease the rate of charge flow at which (also known as the current).
