Hint: A fuse is an electrical safety device that operates to provide high current protection of an electrical circuit. Its essential component is a metal wire that melts when too much current flows through it, thereby stopping the current hence protection from damage. We can use devices which are based on the same working principle.

Complete answer:
When it comes to buying electrical equipment or devices, the most important consideration is safety. Damage occurs when power fluctuates or excess current flows, resulting in an overload or short circuit. As a result, it's critical to include a device as a safety element to safeguard electrical devices/circuits against overcurrent. Fuse was one of the most prevalent devices used to protect circuits in the early days.

When there is an overload of current, a fuse contains a metal wire or strip that melts, stopping or interrupting the current. In recent days the fuse has been replaced by a much more efficient and small electronic device known as MCB – Miniature Circuit Breaker. An MCB is an automated switch that opens when a circuit has too much current flowing through it. When the regular flow of current resumes, the MCB automatically restores to normal. It can be reclosed without the need for any manual intervention.

In the event of a fuse, depending on the type of MCB, it must be changed or rewired after it has been used. As a result, one of the sacrificial devices is the fuse. This is the primary reason why MCBs are commonly used in place of fuses in most circuits. In addition, whenever a circuit fault occurs, the MCB switches automatically shut down, allowing the problem of the device to be easily discovered.

Handling MCB is a very safe device that quickly recovers power. The MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker) is a small circuit breaker that can be reset rapidly and does not require additional maintenance. MCBs protect against overload current and solenoid short circuit current using a bi-metal respective basis.

Hence, the name of the device is Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB).

Note: An MCB, or micro circuit breaker, is an electromagnetic device encased in a moulded insulating material with a complete enclosure. When the current going through it (MCB) exceeds the value at which it is set, the principal function of an MCB is to switch the circuit, i.e., to open the circuit (which has been connected to it) automatically.
