Hint:
Any fraction can be represented in the form of a percentage if we make the denominator equal to hundred and at the same time make the numerator equal to any other number. The numerator and denominator should be in the same ratio as in the fraction earlier. This means the same number should be multiplied in both numerator and denominator.
Complete step by step solution:
According to the question, we have to convert $\dfrac{3}{2}$ into percentage form
So, at first we have to make the denominator equal to one hundred. So for this we have to multiply the denominator with 50 as $2 \times 50 = 100$. But at the same time we have to multiply the numerator with 50 to just neutralize the 50 we multiply in the denominator.
So, now we will get our equation as
$ \Rightarrow \dfrac{3}{2} \times \dfrac{{50}}{{50}}$
$ \Rightarrow \dfrac{{150}}{{100}}$
Hence, in this fraction the denominator is 100, so our numerator is the percentage
Hence, the percentage of $\dfrac{3}{2}$ is $150\% $
We also have an alternative to solve these types of questions
We just have to multiply any fraction with one hundred and we will directly get our percentage
So if we multiply $\dfrac{3}{2}$ with one hundred, we will get
$ \Rightarrow \dfrac{3}{2} \times 100 = 150\% $
Hence, the percentage of $\dfrac{3}{2}$ is $150\% $
Note:
We can clearly observe that the fraction which gives any value smaller than one after simplifying it will be of a percentage less than hundred percent. If the numerator and denominator of the fraction is the same, then the percentage is equal to hundred percent. And when the numerator is greater than the denominator the resulting percentage is greater than hundred percent as we have seen in this question.
