Advantages of locating industries near big cities are:
1. Adequate raw materials are available
2.Skilled labourers and employees are easily available in large quantities whereas in rural areas unskilled labour is available.
3. A good transportation and communication infrastructure is in place. Goods can be easily transferred from one place to another.
4. A good market exists for the final goods to be marketed. Demand for the goods is readily available. Less money has to be spent on creating demand among consumers.
5. It aids in the creation of jobs and the reduction of unemployment, educated unemployment is quite high in these bi8g cities.
6. It also assists in connecting with new or nearby cities because of the presence of good infrastructural facilities.
Note: Because the majority of people live in cities and the population is higher in cities, industries located near the city earn greater profit. There was not a lot of industry throughout the independence period. As a result, there was not a lot of output.
