Hint: The acrosome of spermatozoa is derived from the Golgi complex of the spermatid. In the spermatid Golgi complex is in the spherical body consisting of vesicles and vacuoles. As the differentiation takes place the vacuole is enlarged inside the large vacuole, appearing a small dense body. The pro-acrosomal vacuole which is formed of polymucosaccharide. The pro-acrosomal granules enlarge to form acrosomal granules attached to the tip of the elongated nucleus forming short of cap.
Complete answer:
a) Hyaluronic acid- hyaluronic acid is a mucopolysaccharide found in the connective, epithelial and neural tissues. It doesn't have a tissue or animal-specific chemical structure. It is one of the major components of glycosaminoglycan. It is used actively in cell division, migration, differentiation and tissue and organ regeneration at all stages of organism development or ontogenesis.
So, option A is not correct.
b) Hyaluronidase- Hyaluronidase is an enzyme released by sperm acrosomes that dissolves the ovum's membrane coating, allowing sperm to enter the ovum more easily. It is lytic enzyme causing lysis of egg membrane. Also, acrosome secretes the enzyme during fertilization. Apart from hyaluronidase acrosome secretes acrosin.
So, option B is correct.
c) TSH- TSH stands for thyroid stimulating hormone. This hormone is measured by a TSH test, which is a blood test. The thyroid is a small, butterfly shaped gland located near the throat. Thyroid secretes hormones which are growth regulating.
So, option C is not correct.
Option D Fertilizin- Fertilizin is a glycoprotein that is found on the membrane of the ovum. The sperm contains anti-fertilizin which secretes during the fertilization process which perforates into the ovum and makes sure the fertilization takes place. This reaction of fertilizin-antifertilizin ensures that the sperm of the same species is fused with the ovum.
So, option D is not correct.
Note:
The spermatozoa are a single specialized cell modified for swimming and delivering its cell into the ovum to complete the act of fertilization. The sperm is very small and only few numbers in size but has a long tail or flagella. The shape and size or structure of male gametes varies in different animals. It can be differentiated into \[3\] parts- Head, middle piece and tail. The process of maturation of primordial cells in the testis of male to form sperms or spermatozoa is known as spermatogenesis.
