Hint:- The height of the tree is the vertical distance between the tree's roots and the tip of the tree's tallest branch, and is difficult to precisely determine. It is not the same as the trunk length. When a tree leans, the length of the trunk can be greater than the height of the tree. The tree base is where the pith (centre) of the tree projection intersects the current supportive surface on which the tree grows or where the seed sprouts.

After 5 years, the plant height will be $0.5 \times 5 = 2.5m + 1.5m = 4m$.
After 5 years, the height of the board will be equal to the new height of the board minus the initial height of the plant with the board, that is, $2.5m-1.5m = 1.5m$.
