What Is NEET?

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, which is the full form of NEET, is an entrance examination for students who are interested in studying undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses (MBBS, MD, MS) and dental courses (BDS, MDS) in government or private medical colleges and dental colleges in India. NEET is the most sought-after medical entrance examination. This article is exclusively for the NEET Undergraduate Students' programme.

The National Testing Agency, which is known in short as NTA, conducts NEET once a year to provide admission to the eligible candidates in MBBS/BDS Courses. NTA offers around 91415 MBBS seats, 26,949 BDS seats, 50,720 AYUSH seats, and 525 B.VSC & AH seats through the medical entrance examination.

Candidates must remember that they can apply for only 15% of seats in each college through the NEET entrance examination. This process is known as the All India Quota seats. The other 85% of the seats will be distributed according to the state government and the college policy. The NEET 2022 exam is conducted online and in 13 different languages including English, Hindi, Odia, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Telugu, Kannada,  Assamese, and Bengali.  A NEET aspirant must attempt 200 questions in 3 hours and 20 min. The exam paper is divided into three sections: biology, chemistry, and Physics.

There are a total of three types of seats available at any medical college across India. Of those three types, one is admission through NEET and these are called NEET All India Quota Seats, which includes the three categories. A total of 15% of the seats will be reserved in this quota which we follow. Candidates who are interested in taking the NEET Exam will be competing for this 15% of seats in all the medical colleges across India. That is why the competition is said to be extremely high in the NEET examination.

Apart from all these things, all applicants' eligibility criteria are to apply for AIIMS and JIPMER using a valid NEET Score.

1. How many times will the NEET exam occur in 2022?

NEET 2022 is supposed to be conducted once only in July. However, the students have requested the NTA that the examination should be conducted twice in the year, so NTA is thinking about it and it may be implemented in the upcoming years.
