Hint: Villi are the small, finger-like and tiny projections on the small intestine surface. They have a thin wall which is one cell thick that enables a shorter diffusion path.

Complete answer:
Role of villi in human digestive system-
>The main function of villi is to increase the surface area of the small intestine wall which helps in absorption of the digested food. This increased area for absorption is very useful as digested compounds like monosaccharide and amino acids pass into the semipermeable villi by diffusion.
>These small and tiny projections absorb the protein molecules to help in transfer of proteins to all cells.
>Blood vessels are also present within these villi, which helps to absorb the digested food and carry it to the bloodstream.
>And after absorption from the bloodstream the absorbed food is delivered to all the cells and tissues of the body.

FEATURES-
>Each villus is 0.5-1.6 mm in length and has various microvilli projecting from its epithelium which together form the brush border.
>The length of each microvilli is approximately 1 µm in length.
>Each microvilli is around 1000 times shorter than a single villus.
>Villi are smaller than any of the circular folds in the intestine.

Note:For good digestive health eat unprocessed foods, get good fat only, replenish the digestive enzymes, and eliminate food allergies.
