Hint: Greenhouse gases (GHGs) trap the infrared radiation coming from the Sun and save it from getting away to outer space. They reradiate it back to Earth’s atmosphere. They are liable for increasing the temperature of the atmosphere.

Complete answer:
The major two greenhouse gases are Carbon dioxide and Methane. Carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, ozone, and chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), along with water vapor are known as greenhouse gases. Due to human action, the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere has increased notably causing the greenhouse effect.

Additional Information:
Methane is the simplest of the saturated hydrocarbons. It is made up of 4 hydrogen atoms and 1 carbon atom and is the simplest alkane. When natural methane reaches the surface of the atmosphere is named atmospheric methane and might be found under the seafloor also as below the bottom. Methane is one of the most important greenhouse gasses and approximately 70 percent of methane emissions are linked to human activities.
Carbon dioxide is a colorless gas with a density of about 53 percent higher than that of dry air. It presents naturally in Earth's atmosphere. Due to the economic revolution and human intervention, the number of greenhouse gases presents within the atmosphere has drastically increased. The main source of increased carbon dioxide within the atmosphere is the burning of fossil fuels, coal, petroleum, and natural gas.

Note: Urbanization, deforestation, and soil erosion have also contributed to the increased amount of carbon dioxide. Methane is used in automobiles, ovens, and water heaters as a fuel. Methane is used in the generation of electricity. Methane also used to sanitize products.
