Hint: A communication system consists of transmission system , telecommunication networks, tributary stations, relay stations and terminal equipment to relay the message from electrical signal to audio or visual presentation . Some methods of telecommunications are mass media ,social media, journalism, broadcasting etc.
Complete solution:
A communication system helps to relay messages to the masses. The message can be in the form of digital or audio where the input message is transferred in the forms of signals of alternating waves and converted finally in the form of audio or digital. Transducer and Repeater are the components of the communication system. They are defined as :
A) Transducer: A transducer helps to convert one form of energy to another form. The transducers that typically perform as Input function are called sensors while transducers that typically perform as output function are called Actuators.
The above diagram represents how a transducer converts one energy to another form . Some types of transducers are audio speakers which convert electrical signal to audio signal , in Tv the signals are converted into pictorial data.
B) Repeater: Repeater retransmits the signal it receives with greater magnitude and filter quality. Repeater helps to transfer the signal to a larger distance.
The main advantage of repeaters are:
1. It increases the magnitude of weak signals and hence protects from dying fast and allows larger coverage of signals.
2. It is easy to use and is durable.
3. It is affordable
4. It can connect networks using various physical media.
Some types of repeaters are landline repeater, submarine repeater, telephone repeater, radio repeater, optical communications repeater etc.
Note: Communication systems are a major connecting medium in the modern world, the days are easily exchangeable due to various development of communication systems. The different types of communication system are optical communication system, radio communication system,Duplex Communication system,Half Duplex communication system, tactical communication system etc.
