Hint: Ozone is a very popular trioxygen gas which is present. As the name suggests it is a trioxygen that means it has three atoms of oxygen in it. It is of pale blue in colour with a pungent smell. Ozone is a powerful oxidant more than that of dioxygen, it is present in high concentration in the stratosphere layer of atmosphere.

Complete answer:
Ozone with a chemical formula of ${O_3}$. It is an allotrope of oxygen which is less stable than dioxygen. It is formed from dioxygen by reacting with Ultra violet radiations and electrical discharges in the earth’s atmosphere. This name (ozone) is used as IUPAC name. It is soluble in water and more soluble in inert non-polar solvents. Ozone is among the most powerful oxidizing agents even more than dioxygen, it is unstable at high temperature, and it oxidizes most of the metals except platinum, gold and iridium. It can be used as combustible gases; it can react at cryogenic temperatures. It can be used to remove iron and manganese from the water. This gas can be produced in the la using machines called ozonator. Scientists have classified ozone into two categories as ‘Good ozone’ and ‘bad ozone’, Good ozone is the state of this gas when present in the stratosphere layer of the earth’s atmosphere which protects the earth from harmful Ultraviolet radiations coming from the sun whereas when the ozone is present at earth’s surface it is in poisonous state which is referred to as bad ozone.

Note: About ninety percent of the total ozone is present in the stratosphere layer of atmosphere. The natural level of this gas is due to the balance between that sunlight. The total mass of ozone in the atmosphere is about 3 billion metric tons. Ozone in the stratosphere absorbs most of the UV radiations.
